Casey Mohan is a mixed media artist based in North West England and a graduate of Staffordshire University with a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Fine Art. Her art explores popular culture and symbols that focus on the idea of recognised and universal imagery. Casey has previously explored themes surrounding the Internet and social media, their effects on the consumer and the associated symbols. Other artworks have focused on patterns, shapes and how they connect to nostalgia.
Her work creates a space to think about what influences us, making the pieces relatable to the audience. Spray paint, acrylic paint and a mixture of inks are used alongside a range of printing methods from drypoint to lino printing on papers, canvases and artboards to create varied sizes of work. The printing methods are used to show that an image can be created once, then repeated continuously, just like the range of symbols and imagery that appear within the artist’s work.
