‘Overgrown Obsession’ is a mural that focuses on our behaviours surrounding phones, social media and the online world. The phone’s scale is oversized compared with an actual phone, reflecting the obsession many people have with devices that are small but hold a much larger power over us. This piece features a painted outline where printed digital drawings sit inside a ‘home screen’. My work intends to create a space to think about what influences us greatly and encourages people to respond to their reliance on technology and online media.
